A family office that invests to hold, not to trade.
Every investment is carried for the long term and supported with capital, governance and network.
TAMC is a family office — the vehicle through which its principal holds his investments in a group of operating businesses. It does not run them. Management teams hold the pen on strategy and day-to-day execution; the company sits behind them as a stable shareholder, setting the standard for governance and stepping in where capital, introductions or judgement are the binding constraint.
The holdings are deliberately varied — screens and stories at one end, ore and offtake at the other, a members' savings platform in between — but they answer to the same brief: a defensible position, an operator worth backing, and a market that is growing rather than being fought over. Where two holdings can help each other, the company makes the introduction and then gets out of the way.
The group employs more than forty-five people and is hiring. It operates in three markets — Nigeria, South Africa and Namibia — from a registered office in Onikan, Lagos and an office at Plantation Place, Bryanston, Gauteng.
How the company holds
Three commitments made to every management team the company backs.
Operators lead
The people running a business know it better than its shareholder does. The company backs judgement rather than second-guessing it, and reserves its influence for decisions that are genuinely structural.
Capital with a horizon
No exit clock. Holdings are funded to reach the position they are aiming for, which means accepting slower years where the strategy warrants them.
Built for the continent
Audiences, minerals and travellers all point the same way. The group is positioned for African demand and African supply, and for the diaspora that moves between them.
“Africa is not short of opportunity. It is short of patient owners who will stay in the room after the first difficult year.”
The principal is the founder and chief executive of Utopia Media Group, the media ecosystem that comprises the group's creative agency, its content monetization and mobile TV arm, its digital networks business and its production house.
He has more than thirteen years across finance, international trade, advertising and technology. Before founding the group he worked at Asset and Resource Management (ARM) Investment Managers, at OnPoint Consultancy in the United Kingdom as Head of International Trade, and at JWT Advertising / LTC Group as Group Head of Digital Marketing, Property and Investment.
He holds the group's shareholding directly and chairs its capital decisions. Enquiries reach his office at am@tamc.global.
